Senior Product Designer (UX)

  • Hybrid
    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
  • Product Design

Job description

It's not just a job. Together, we're on a mission to speed up the energy transition, and our goal is to enable 2 million sustainable energy installations by 2035. We can't do that alone, so we're looking for people who want to work with us on what really matters. iChoosr has 160 colleagues across the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Poland, North America and Japan, all working toward the same mission.

The problem you'll work on

Putting solar panels on your roof or switching to a heat pump is a big, expensive and unfamiliar decision. iChoosr uses collective purchasing to make that decision simpler and more affordable for households across Europe, the US and Japan. The design challenge is to earn homeowners’ trust and guide them from first interest to successful installation.

We’re at a turning point. We’re completing the rebuild of our platform, and with it our core customer journeys. Next, the focus shifts to making those journeys perform better and adapting them as we expand into new products and markets. Meanwhile, our new product vision toward 2031 guides us to discover and design new value for households, installers and partners.

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll continuously improve the journeys households rely on, shape the experience for new products and markets, and help create what doesn’t exist yet. You’ll make the vision real by turning it into flows we can test with real users, prototype quickly and bring to life.

The team you'll join

You'll join the Product & Design team of Product Managers, Product Specialists and fellow designers, led by our Head of Product & Design. On a daily basis, you'll be part of one of our product teams, working every day with a Product Manager and engineers.

Your role

In your product team, you're responsible for outcomes, not just for working through a list of requirements. You own the user experience and usability of what we build, not just its design. Your job is to arrive at solutions that our customers love and also work for our business.

Job requirements

What you'll do

  • Discover before you build: frame problems with your team, explore options and test them with real users before engineering starts building.

  • Own usability: write user test plans, run user interviews and usability tests (UX research), and turn what you learn into design decisions.

  • Strengthen continuous discovery: help us set up and improve the way we learn from users, so it happens every week, not once per project.

  • Co-create: bring business experts and engineers into the design process, for example by running workshops that align everyone on the problem and the solution.

  • Design end-to-end journeys from flows and interaction design to polished, accessible UI.

  • Contribute to our design system and share what you learn with fellow designers.

  • Use AI to move faster: generate high-fidelity prototypes so you can test ideas sooner, and shorten the path from design to implementation.

Who you are

  • A strong Product Designer with excellent interaction and visual design skills.

  • Curious and evidence-driven: you test your assumptions instead of defending them, and you combine user research with data.

  • Business-savvy: you look for solutions that work for customers and for iChoosr.

  • A clear communicator who is comfortable leading a room.

  • Experimental with AI while keeping your own judgement. You've tried AI tools to prototype or speed up delivery, and you know their limits. AI can make you learn and ship faster, but it can't replace taste or critical thinking.

What you bring

  • 6+ years of product design or UX design, in-house or at an agency, ideally on consumer (B2C) products.

  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams.

  • Hands-on experience writing test plans and running user tests and interviews.

  • Experience facilitating workshops or co-creation sessions.

  • Hands-on experiments with AI prototyping tools (e.g. Figma Make, Lovable, v0), or a real interest in them and an example of something you've tried.

  • Strong Figma skills.

  • A portfolio that shows how you reached your solutions (what you tested, what you learned, what changed), not just final screens.

  • Fluency in English.

Our commitment to you

  • Contribute to a more sustainable world on a daily basis

  • Competitive salary

  • Comprehensive health benefits package

  • An office in the center of Amsterdam

  • Flexible work arrangements (hybrid working)

  • Professional development opportunities (Training, Mentor/mentee program & buddy program)

  • International company event once a year

  • Cultural holiday swap

  • Day off on your birthday

  • Possibility to travel

  • Fresh new laptop (Macbook or Windows)

Come be a part of our team!

If this role fits you, we would love to hear from you.
